What's the deal?
We buy our mushroom extracts wholesale from a specialist, whose farms and facilities are certified through CERES. Their operation is listed with CCOF,an organic certification from California.
Every batch of extract we buy is screened by Eurofins, an independent laboratory network accredited by DAkkS. Each batch is measured for potency and against the European EC 396 residue standard for contaminants like mold and salmonella.
Who certifies our mushroom supplier?
We do not make our own extracts. Extraction is a craft of its own, so we buy from a specialist. That supplier carries the following certifications.

Certifies the farms and facilities. Carries USDA National Organic Program requirements.
CCOF
California Certified Organic Farmers. The supplier operation is listed with CCOF.
USDA Organic / NOP
The rules underneath the organic seal on our bag.
Eurofins
Independent third party lab network. Runs residue and potency screening on incoming extract batches, ensuring compliance with the manufacturer.
DAkkS
Germany's national accreditation body. It accredits the lab, ensuring compliance, the part most brands skip.
EC 396
European pesticide residue regulation. Covers more than 500 pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals and microbial contaminants.
What happens between the farm and the bite?
Certified organic grow
From farms and facilities certified through CERES, carrying USDA NOP requirements, with many decades of experience. Our mycelium extracts are grown on soybeans, never on grain, this allows us to remain truly gluten-free.
Dual extraction
Both hot water and alcohol are used to capture different compounds, effectively breaking down the chitin cell wall to access what your body cannot. The compounds are then spray dried, never using maltodextrin or fillers.
Batch testing
Eurofins screens potency and residues against EC 396. This measures the levels of key active compounds, screens for heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, microbial contaminants like mold and salmonella, and residual solvents.
Into real food
The standardized extract goes into our Energy Bites, making your daily dose convenient and craveable. Measured at 750mg per two 10 gram bites. Enjoy once daily to build up these important compounds in your body.

The percentage trap...
A percentage is a concentration, not a dose. It shows how much of a verified compound is concentrated in the mushroom. Read the percentage and the milligrams together or neither number alone means much.
Example: 150mg of Lion's Mane with 2% Erinacines = 3mg of verified Erinacines (150mg X 2% = 3mg), which has shown to be an effective dose in studies.

The mushroom extracts we buy are screened by Eurofins, an independent third party laboratory network accredited by DAkkS, for potency and for residues against the European EC 396 standard covering more than 500 pesticides and herbicides. That testing is performed at the extract stage by our supplier, before the ingredient reaches our kitchen.
Who certifies the mushrooms as organic?
Our extract supplier's farms and facilities are certified through the CERES organic certification process, which carries USDA National Organic Program requirements, and the operation is listed with CCOF. Our finished Energy Bites are USDA Organic.
Do you make your own extracts?
No. We buy them wholesale from a specialist mushroom extraction company that grows and extracts to the certifications above. Extraction is a craft of its own, and buying from people who do it properly gets you a better and more verifiable ingredient than doing it badly in house.
What does dual extracted mean?
Two extractions on the same mushroom. Hot water releases beta glucans and other water soluble polysaccharides. Alcohol pulls the compounds that are not water soluble, such as erinacines and triterpenes. Running both is how a label ends up with more than one standardized number.
Why does a percentage need a milligram next to it?
Because a percentage is a concentration and not a dose. Two percent of a large amount and two percent of a tiny amount are the same percentage and completely different products. A label that shows one number and not the other is telling you part of the story.
Is this a supplement or a food?
It is food. Energy Bites made with real ingredients that happen to carry a measured amount of mushroom extract. Nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a health condition, talk to your doctor first.
